Meditations on the Seven “O Antiphons” of Advent
Transform your Advent by meditating on the biblical basis of the seven O Antiphons, traditionally used from December 17-23 in preparation for Christmas.

Rejoice, Rejoice, Emmanuel Has Come!
[T]he O Antiphons of Advent have been part of the Church’s liturgical tradition and celebration since the early centuries. Drawn from Isaiah’s prophecies of the coming Messiah, each of the seven O Antiphons highlights a title for the One whose advent we anticipate . . . As such they offer a perfect preparation for God’s people as we await Jesus’ coming, a fitting recitation or chant preceding the Magnificat during the Vespers of the Liturgy of the Hours, and a glorious theme for an Advent meditation. As we explore the rich biblical significance of each of the seven Antiphons, let us pray for a renewed heartfelt response, best uttered in a holy and breathtaking “O!”
