A Study in Ephesians: God’s Vision of a Glorious Church

The letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians stands high on a pedestal in the Christian tradition. Known for its glorious language, its treatment of Christ and the Church, and its piercing insight on marital love, Ephesians has obtained pride of place in the hearts of many faithful. Though it does not boast in length (being only six short chapters), this letter certainly boasts in its inexhaustible depths. You are invited to come journey through this book over the course of five weeks and discover for yourself why Ephesians has led countless souls closer to Christ. In this study we will carefully observe what St. Paul has to say about Christ Jesus, who is “far above all rule and authority and power and dominion” and who reigns as “head over all things” (Eph 1:21-22). In doing so, we will then discover the gravity of St. Paul’s exhortation to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called” (4:1).
This course is open to all who wish to encounter Christ and gain a deepened understanding of His Word. Whether you may take the course for personal enrichment, or to support your formal teaching, or to provide greater liturgical appreciation, it is designed to deepen our knowledge of God and to move our hearts toward greater faith and devotion as we meet our Lord in the life-transforming message of Sacred Scripture.
