Today in Rome…

Our pilgrims visited the Basilica of St. John Lateran, walked through its Holy Doors, and saw the Colosseum!

Fellow Pilgrims,

Buona sera from Italy!

What an absolute gift today was. The most obvious highlight of the day was visiting the Papal Archbasilica of Saint John Lateran and walking through its Holy Door.

We began in the portico outside the Door and Fr. Kennett led us in prayer before processing into the basilica. I walked through the Door and could physicallyโ€”as well as spirituallyโ€”sense a rush of unique jubilee grace as we entered our Mother Church.

It was truly an emotional experience.

Many of our pilgrims broke down into tears after having crossed its holy threshold. It is difficult to articulate just how powerful these jubilee graces are, especially when experienced in a prayerful community of fellow pilgrims.

Allow me to make a suggestion for you as you journey with us.

Tomorrow, or at your earliest convenience, join us on this time of pilgrimage by finding and prayerfully walking through the closest Holy Door available to you in your diocese. I am fully aware that not everyone is destined to have a palpable and/or emotional experience upon entering itโ€”but I guarantee that the graces will be no less present.

The fruits of this pilgrimage are already beginning to show in a powerful way, and I believe this is only the beginning.

Please know I bring each of you and your intentions to these holy saints and sites each day. I am thankful for your participation as we make this journey.

Yours in Jesus,
Josh
