Welcome to your pilgrimage formation journey! The ACTS XXIX and Emmaus Institute teams are eager to collaborate with one another and with you to begin this transformative experience of walking in the footsteps of the Apostle Paul. In order to maximize our on-the-ground experience, we have created this pre-pilgrimage itinerary with you in mind so to prepare our hearts, minds, and souls to receive all the graces that our Lord desires to pour out through this pilgrimage.

Each month, you will receive a video from an ACTS XXIX or Emmaus Institute team member, as well as recommended Scripture and supplementary reading materials, that will invite deeper reflection on Paul, the great saint and friend of Jesus. By getting to know Paul—both in letter and in spirit—we will ready ourselves to be immersed in the places of his missionary preaching and be transformed by the gospel he once preached in those very places.

It is encouraged that you purchase the following works in advance to take full advantage of this pre-pilgrimage formation experience: (1) Saint Paul (General Audiences of Pope Benedict XVI from July 2, 2008 to February 4, 2009), and (2) What Saint Paul Really Said by N.T. Wright. Sections to be read will be announced monthly and can be found within the course details.
