The Book of Proverbs might be one of the Bible’s most neglected volumes . . . and one of its most relevant, especially in a world where knowledge counts as wisdom, sound-bytes as information, opinions as truth, feelings as facts, evil as good, wealth as success, power as leadership, preferences as morals, permissiveness as compassion, license as freedom, capitulation as cooperation, AI as actual intelligence, and other signs of folly and confusion. Thankfully our Lord has provided a sure guide to help us navigate these muddled and murky waters and to help our children do the same.

With special attention to Proverbs 1–9, supplemented by the Bible’s other Wisdom Books, this ten-week course will anchor us in what God considers wise, including how to attain it and how to impart it to our children and grandchildren. Driving the study is a quest for a biblical answer to the question: What does it means to be truly wise and to live wisely by God’s definition and standards? The answer might surprise us! This course is for anyone curious enough to find out, whether young or old, married or unmarried, parents or grandparents, clergy or laity, teacher or student.
